Work In Progress

2024-2025

Over the course of this year, I learned new things about myself that I would have never gained self-awareness of without the people and experiences I have encountered.

What I am most grateful for has been opportunities to explore of different interests. I volunteered for Crossroads Middle School as a Coach, providing mentorship to an impressive group of girls. I met a group a friends to have bible study with. I finally got a group together to play sand volleyball and have jam sessions. I started hosting family dinners and helped host a murder mystery party with a close friend. I even volunteered to help with disaster relief in North Carolina, wrapping Christmas gifts and organizing and help people find supplies they needed.

During all of this, I spent a lot of time reflecting on what I truly enjoy and want out of life. Navigating the highs and the lows of the past year, I have built a deeper relationship with myself in which I now accept myself for who I truly am and am working towards living a life in alignment with it. I had to take some losses to realize that I am enough, regardless of performance or achievements. I learned about the things that have built up my confidence, such as working out, completing projects, and serving my community.

I realized that what has brought me most fulfillment has been spending quality time with family and trying out new things. In addition, tending to my personal needs just as much as I tend to others. I've realized the benefits in being more accomodating to myself and recognizing my preferences and tendencies. I am continuing to explore how I want to nurture my relationships and how to prioritize my passions. While reflecting on what matters to me, I have been able to align my values with future goals.

Within the upcoming year, I plan to take action on all of the ideas I have for the future. I plan to find a mentor or a therapist to help me with goal setting and creating an action plan to accomplish my goals. I plan to land a new job by reaching out to different opportunities. To keep myself inspired and focused, I plan to create a vision board with inspiring quotes and visuals that motivate me to go after my goals. I am challenging myself by developing habits that are good for my mental and physical health and replacing any that take me off track.

I hope that a year from now, I would have tried to work as an au pair in Spain, applied for a job at Cincinnati Children's hospital and Ruby ABA, and have reached out to my old high school professor to see if I can help him with his new program.
